Es handelt sich um eine Art Wimpernverlängerung, bei der lange, einzelne Wimpern oder geschlossene Volumenfächer verwendet werden, um einen texturierten, „stacheligen“ Look zu kreieren. Sie sind länger als die restlichen Wimpern und werden strategisch platziert, um einen ausdrucksstarken, extravaganten oder zarten Effekt zu erzielen. Sie sind nicht für die alleinige Anwendung gedacht, sondern werden klassischen, Volumen- oder Hybrid-Sets hinzugefügt, um Definition und Dimension zu verleihen. Die Stacheln sind typischerweise 2–3 mm länger als die umgebenden Wimpern, um einen dramatischeren Effekt zu erzielen.
